SPIRITUAL PRACTICE
It seems both contemplation and prayer together are words that are used in the main to describe the practice of people of faith, particularly Christians, to connect with what they call Divine.
Daisy-Winifred does not profess to be a Christian or member of any other faith tradition but has found that describing what is her practice needs to use words and that these archetypes go some way in doing this.
She prays formally 5 times a day on walking, morning, afternoon, evening and night but has no set times when she prays in way of specific hour but does split her day into five portions. She uses a set of prayer counters designed by herself, named 'Pilgrim Beads', plus prayers written for use with them.
When daisy-Winifred says she prays she doesn't mean she asks things of a god, be that gifts or forgiveness, rather it is a voicing of intent and a drawing closer to the knowledge she already belives she caries within her. Speaking out loud words of intent, desire, need; seems not only to somehow clarify and make solid these things but the very vibrations of the sounds resonate with the fibres of her being and sets up a rhythm that builds into the 'tune' her life dances to.
Daisy-Winifred sets aside time each day for silence. Clearing a space to be filled by remembrance of what she has always known but somehow forgets daily She has designed two auditory prompts, which incorporate small bells, of a bracelet and pendant as means to remind her, throughout each day, she is trying to keep her awareness and impetus drawn towards that which she calls the Unfathomable, which, even given the knowledge that science keeps proffering, still continues to be Unfathomable.
The more she discovers and finds as truth the more she realises she still doesn't know or understand; this in no way feels like some great burden needing to be shed, rather a gift to embrace. However, it's not just in formal prayers and ways that Daisy-Winifred sees herself 'dancing'. It is in ongoing, daily, concious living that all activity becomes 'prayer.'
