CREATIVITY
Throughout her life Daisy-Winifred has found herself impelled to 'play' with paper, pen, paintbrush, hammer, chisel, needle; in fact anything that can make a mark to transform, add or create something more to the world, that expresses the light, love and life that she is always a little overwhelmed to be part of even as she attempts to communicate the feeling, understanding, longing that urges her to try.
Her motivation in 'creating' is not primarily to add to her coffers or fame. Rather she is stimulated by the desire and deep need to renew, increase and bring into being, her capacity to 'remember' that which she has known since she was born, and, to share in the hope others may 'remember' too.
Daisy-winifred sees 'creative talent' as another phrase for 'living mindfully', seeking to listen, see and hear beyond the immediate by reaching towards that which is already known and understood and bringing it to the light of day in forms and ways that add to the world. Be it bowl of soup or clay sculpture, a weeded flower bed or a landscape painting, a line of washing blowing in the breeze or hand made book, a fire lit or a sonnet written all and more can be expression of 'creative talent.' She believes it is not something set aside for a chosen few to be lauded by the many. Rather each person has the capacity to be an artist and craftsperson in every sphere of their lives.
For herself, Daisy-Winifred has realised it is as much about will, concentration and courage as talent. Her wish is that her life expresses this to others and encourages them to discover their own 'creative talent', when they taste her soup, touch a sculpture, hang a painting, try on a felt hat, see freshly turned soil, hold a prayer counter, enjoy breeze dried sheets, share laughter.
She seeks truth to create a life that is art in the making and the living a craft for the learning and would encourage you to do likewise..
